Thank you for using PitchBuds. This Privacy Policy covers both the PitchBuds iOS app ("the App") and the PitchBuds website at pitchbuds.com ("the Website"). Because PitchBuds is designed for young children, we hold ourselves to the strictest standard: we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data — in the App or on the Website.

The PitchBuds App

Microphone Use

The App requests microphone access so it can hear your child sing a note back (and, in future game modes, clap or tap along to a rhythm) and give a score. All audio processing happens locally on your device:

• The App briefly captures short audio segments (a few seconds) while the child is singing or playing
• These segments are analyzed on the device in real time using pitch- and sound-detection algorithms
• The audio is discarded immediately after analysis
• Audio is never stored on the device, uploaded to any server, or shared with any third party

If you deny microphone access, the singing and rhythm features will not work, but the rest of the App will still function.

Information the App Does Not Collect

• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• Location data
• Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or usage analytics
• Photos, files, or contacts
• Audio recordings (see above)
• Any information that could identify you or your child

The App uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Website

The PitchBuds Website (pitchbuds.com)

The Website hosts free browser-based music games (such as the keyboard-play and ear-training activities). The Website:

• Does not access your microphone or camera
• Does not require accounts or ask for any information
• Does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies
• Processes all sound and gameplay locally in your browser using standard web audio technology

You can close the page at any time and nothing about your visit is retained by us.

Children's Privacy (COPPA and Similar Laws)

PitchBuds is designed for use by young children, including children under 13. In compliance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR-K provisions, and similar international regulations:

• We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children in the App or on the Website
• Children are never asked to create accounts or provide any information
• There is no advertising, no social features, no chat, and no external links presented to children
• No behavioral data or usage tracking of any kind takes place

Parents are always in full control. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to review, correct, or delete. If you have any concerns, contact us at the email above.

Third-Party Services

Neither the App nor the Website uses third-party services, SDKs, analytics providers, or advertising networks that receive information from your device.

Data Retention and Security

Because no data is collected or transmitted, there is no data to retain, delete, or secure on our end. All processing is transient and happens on your device or in your browser.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Material changes affecting the App will be reflected in a new version of the App.
